Dr. Zedoun Al Zoubi is a Syrian researcher and consultant specializing in governance, identity, civil society, and peacebuilding. He brings extensive professional and academic experience through his work in research, public policy, and institutional development in transitional contexts. His work focuses on local governance, the role of civil society, and the intersection between humanitarian action and peacebuilding, in addition to mediation and conflict resolution in conflict-affected environments

He has participated in several international research projects on governance, health, and political legitimacy in collaboration with academic and research institutions such as King’s College London and the London School of Economics. He has also published studies and research on Syrian civil society, decentralization, the social contract, and the governance of health systems in conflict-affected areas.

In addition to his research work, he has played advisory and facilitation roles in political and civic initiatives related to the Syrian file. Among these roles, he served as a facilitator in both the Women’s Advisory Board and the Civil Society Support Room at the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, where he gained practical experience in constitutional issues, political systems, political mediation, and strengthening civic participation

In the academic field, he held academic and administrative positions at the Arab International University in Damascus, where he served as Director of Quality and Advisor to the University President. He also taught in the Faculties of Business Administration and Information Engineering and supervised the development of quality assurance programs and academic curricula.

He holds a PhD in Management and Information Systems from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences and conducted postdoctoral studies at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) in Germany.

In addition to his research and advisory work, since late 2025 Dr. Zedoun Al Zoubi has been hosting the program “Wast Al-Balad ” on Syria TV. The talk show discusses political and social issues in Syria and aims to create a space for public dialogue on the country’s political and societal transformations.
